Interior Ministry Comes up With Remedy of Pakistani Mobile Users

Federal Government of Pakistan (Interior Ministry) thinks that PTA and cellular companies operating here in the Pakistan have badly failed to cap illegal sale of mobile SIMs. Consequently, it has decided that no one can purchase and get SIM in real time from franchises; instead, if a user needs to buy a SIM, he must fill all required documents, with NIC copy and other prerequisites.  Latter on, cellular company will send him SIM at his postal address.

Daily times has reported in its July 22, 2008 edition as following

The federal government has decided that Mobile SIMs will now be posted to the addresses given by applicants and not handed over to the purchaser on the spot. An Interior Ministry spokesman told reporters that any violation of this procedure shall be punishable under the relevant laws and necessary instructions had been issued to Chairman PTA in this regard.

This is a very sharp step taken by government. Maybe it was only solution left with the government; given that PTA and cellular companies were not showing good results regarding the sale of illegal SIMs.

I think that this method may delay the process of SIM activation and may result into problems for users, but the legislation may lead us to a safer Pakistan. We must remember that this situation is reversal of what we were 8/10 years ago when we used to wait for a PTCL line for months. So these delays are due to problems created by ourselve.

On other hands, sales of cellular connections may further go down, which are already witnessing a decline in recent months. Even bangladesh defeated us in Cellular SIM’s sale in June 2008. It merits mentioning that Pakistan added

How to find a friend’s Location through SMS?

To Locate a Friend via SMS:

1. User-A sends an SMS by writing FIND<space><NUMBER> e.g “Find<space><032XXXXXXXX>” and sends it to 141
2. User-B will receive an SMS requesting to permit or deny User-A’s request
3. In case User-B accepts the request, then User ! will get the real time location of User-B in an SMS, or in other case the SMS will notify the deniel of service due to User-B

How to locate a friend’s Location through MMS?

To Locate a Friend via MMS:

1. User-A sends SMS by writing FIND<space><NUMBER><space>MMS e.g      “Find<space>032XXXXXXXX><MMS” and sends it to 141
2. User-B will receive an SMS requesting to permit or deny User-A request
3. In case of approval from User-B, User-A will get location of User-B through MMS* or a denial message if not

Note: MMS settings and activation is required if you need to find friend’s loaction by MMS

Free GPRS Internet on Zong - Step by Step Setting

Okay guys, after Ufone now we have cracked Zong too for FREE GPRS on your Zong Number…! Remember it’s a crack and it can go away anytime…so enjoy Free unlimited GPRS on Zong, until its not rectified…!

Follow the below method

1. First of all you will have to activate GPRS on your Zong number…if you are already subscribed, then skip point 1, 2 and 3
2. Send an SMS All<Space>Make<Space>Model and send to 131
3. In response, you will get GPRS setting, simply save this setting; at this point your GPRS has been activated on your Zong.
4. Now make sure that you have no balance in your account, that is your account balance should be zero
5. Go into phone browser
6. And Start browsing…lol yea that’s it.. (in case you receive any error, don’t give up, try 5/6 times and you will be connected…

Very Important Note: Someone on another forum used Free GPRS on Zong through this method has reported that he was charged for GPRS on next card load, however, many others are saying that they were not charged and they use this FREE GPRS smoothly. So be carefull… On other hands, spend Rs. 200 on Zong SIM and then forget about recharging it… ; -) keep on Using Free GPRS until its available
