Alright, Zong has broken the silence, and they have something new to offer to its customer…! This time they are targeting those customers who tend to make international calls quite frequently - Yes, now with zong you can call at 50 paisa per 30 second to any one International number. Hold on a second, Zong says that you will be charged 40 Paisas extra on first minute…!
This package is available to all Zong’s 8 Anay customers… Also you can select your one international number from selected countries for special pricing. This is very much similar to Zong 8 Anay’s current setting, that is you can select one selected number at 50 Paisa Per 30 Seconds.

Pakistan Package by PTCL is going to see an end by August 31st, 2008. PTCL administration is obviously not in favor of this withdrawal; however PTA has directed the company to abolish the said package by the end of current month in order to maintain a pricing balance amongst market players. Directions came after an appeal by PTCL to the regulator that it wants to continue Pakistan Package was turned down by authority. PTA has directed the company to inform their customers by August 10th, 2008 about the removal of this Package.
Directives by PTA, dated July 30 2008 says that PTCL’s justifications to carry on Pakistan package are unreal for instance PTCL in its appeal said that Pakistan Package is selected by customers on voluntary basis however it was not the case; PTCL’s package was imposed forcefully for all customers of PTCL and majority of them showed strong resentment against this imposition. PTA said that it is still receiving complaints from general public regarding refund/adjustment and deactivation of Pakistan Package.
According to PTA only 25 percent of PTCL subscribers are availing Pakistan Package, majority of which are corporate clients with heavy traffic load. PTA has advised PTCL that this is actually in their own benefit to quit the package to maximize its revenues from those corporate clients.
In another justification PTCL said that Pakistan Package was facilitating its customers, in response to which PTA has responded that this fact is not true. Authority said that PTCL has lowered local call pulse rate from 5 to 3 minutes, along with the company is charging highest tariffs for fixed-to-mobile calls, which is defiantly not act of facilitation for customers.
PTA directive said that PTCL must publicize that it is quitting Pakistan Package before August 10th 2008 before taking it down from August 31st, 2008

Yesterday, Usman (one of my reader) pointed out that all cellular companies are offering calls for Rs. 1 Per minute with little variations except Warid that is left behind and they didn’t offer any such package to their customers.
Today, there is a news for Warid Customers, that now they can avail 50 minutes and 500 SMS or MMS (between 9 AM to 9 PM) per day at a flat rate of Rs. 19.96 per day.
Warid says that this package, named as Pakistan Package, is to celebrate the month of August and it is a gift of Freedom to their customers.
Features of Zem Pakistan Package
- ZEM Pakistan is a daily subscription based package offering 50 on-net minutes, 500 SMS/MMS between 9am-9pm
- Daily subscription charges are Rs.19.96.
- You can utilize the 50 on-net minutes as you seem fit. You can consume them in one call equaling 50 minutes or multiple calls with combined duration of 50 minutes.
- SMS/MMS can be sent on both on-net (Warid-Warid) & off-net (Other mobile numbers)
- Customers of all Warid Packages can avail this offer
- This is a daily subscription based package, all minutes/SMS/MMS would have to be consumed within 9am-9pm.Unconsumed free on-net minutes and free SMS/MMS will not be carried forward

Conspiracy
Couple of days ago, Warid published this below given AD in Express News Paper, that could be translated as a totally different package that what we discussed above.
AD said that all calls are 15 Paisa per call and 500 SMS and MMS daily…!
That means:
Per call = 15 paisa, all network (because it was not mentioned regarding on-net or off-net calls). And it could be the case, but someone from the management asked them to be sensible, and dont put undue pressure on the network, so let’s limit the calls to only 50 minutes. After GPRS and MMS setting for Ufone, today, we will learn how to activate GPRS and MMS for Zong numbers. So let’s straight away start the process
Step 1: Activating GPRS, WAP and MMS on Zong Number through SMS
You can activate GPRS, WAP and MMS with a very simple process…
If you want to activate all services at once, then write an SMS as follwing
All<Space>Make<Space>Model and send to 131 (All Nokia 6300-> send it to 131)
If you want only GPRS settings then write an SMS as following
Internet<Space>Make<Space>Model and sent to 131
In case you don’t need GPRS or WAP and only want MMS, then follow this
MMS<Space>Make<Space>Model and sent to 131
Similarly, for only WAP setting on Zong number
WAP<Space>Make<Space>Model and sent to 131
Step 2: Once you send any of above given message, you will receive setting in an SMS. Save this SMS and you are done.

There is a good news for those who use PTCL phone extensively. As menioned in one of earlier posts, PTCL has revised its calls rates for local calls. Now you can make calls for Rs. 2 Per 3 minutes. New prices are as following
Call Rates (All Prices are excluding Taxes)
PTCL to PTCL and PTCL to Vfone = Free Calls (11 PM to 6 AM)
PTCL to PTCL and PTCL to Vfone = Rs. 2 per 3 Min (6 AM to 11 PM)
PTCL to Mobile = Rs. 2.50 (All Networks)
PTCL to Nation Wide = Rs. 2 per minute (For those who are not availing Pakistan Package)
